Hearing before the Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law of the Committee on the Judiciary, United States Senate. This is the first time in the history of the Senate a Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law. Repressive regimes that violate human rights create fertile breeding for terrorism, war, poverty, and exploitation. Our Nation and our world will never be fully secure as long as fundamental human rights are not honored. At today’s hearing, we will consider the issue of human trafficking.
