*Two new publications regarding USCIS June 29, 2020, new filing locations

Starting June 29, 2020, USCIS changed its filing locations for U visa forms and Lawful Permanent Residency Forms for U visa holders. USCIS will allow for a 30-day grace period for petitioners to file their U visa and Adjustment of Status forms, and all related forms, at the incorrect service center. The grace period will run through July 30. After that date, USCIS may reject any Form I-918, Form I-918A, Form I-918B, Form I-485, and all related forms sent to the incorrect service center. NIWAP has created two tools to help applicants quickly identify where they should file based on their state of residence. The first is a two-page document detailing where applicants should file based on the state of residence and the type of form (U Visa or Lawful Permanent Residency based on U Visa). The second is a color-coded map to represent USCIS’s instructions visually. We recommend using these complementary tools in tandem with one another. All this information is current as of its publication date, July 24, 2020. For best practice, visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-918 and https://www.uscis.gov/i-485-addresses for the most updated information regarding the U visa form, instructions, and where to file.
