Similar to the Delaware statute, this law establishes a protocol for law enforcement agents to follow when asked for certification of a U Visa by a victim. When an applicant requests certification from an officer, if the officer reasonably believes the applicant is a victim of a qualifying crime, then the officer will request the certifying official to complete the request, “as soon as practicable.”
