This page provides links to individual state charts that track family law service of process and jurisdiction laws in a range of family law cases and will be useful to state court judges, family lawyers and other attorneys representing immigrant children and immigrant crime victims in family court matters. This includes cases in which a party is seeking findings on behalf of a child eligible to apply for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). These state charts and the accompanying charts organized by family court case type “Family Law Service of Process and Jurisdiction Requirements Charts” will be particularly useful in family law matters in which a parent or other party that needs to be served is located outside of the state or the country.
