This memorandum provides interim guidance governing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) civil immigration enforcement actions in or near courthouses. In accordance with Memorandum from the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Benjamine Huffman, Enforcement Actions in or Near Protected Areas (Jan. 20, 2025), the April 27, 2021, Civil Immigration Enforcement Actions in or near Courthouses memorandum from Acting ICE Director Tae Johnson and Acting U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Troy Miller is now rescinded for ICE and is superseded by this interim guidance.

This guidance is effective immediately and remains in effect until superseded.
