This training was given at the 2023 Maryland Crime Victims’ Rights Conference on April 27, 2023. The training focuses on understanding how filing for victim-related immigration benefits enhances access to public benefits safety net services. Additionally, it educates on knowing which publicly funded benefits and services are open to immigrant survivors regardless of their immigration status. Lastly, the training helps practitioners navigate NIWAP’s online benefits map and state-by-state charts to look up state and/or federally-funded benefits and services for which immigrant crime victims qualify.
